Katherine Elizabeth Chapin

Orginally from San Jose, she graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University with a BA in Liberal Studies and minors in both French and Business. She has been seen in both opera and musical theatre, including Puccini’s Tosca, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Strauss’ Die Fledermaus and Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs des perles with Opera San José, Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne, Reginald de Kovan’s Robin Hood, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma, the English comedy Me & My Girl, Walton Jones’ 1940’s Radio Hour, as Dolly Tate in Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, and as Jack’s Mom in Sondheim’s Into the Woods. She has also done scenes from Carmen (Mercedes), The Marriage of Figaro (Marcellina), Gilbert & Sullivan’s Patience (Jane), The Mikado, and The Merry Widow. Upcoming performances include the 2004-2005 season with Opera San José.
